ALTERNATIVE PRINT-MAKING WORKSHOP
COCOON ART MAGAZINE | STUDIO GOPPO | FOTO COMPANY
We are delighted to announce that Cocoon is arranging a two-day interactive workshop on Gum Dichromate(B&W) Printing Process in association with Studio Goppo and Foto Company.
Gum Dichromate is the earliest printing process of the 19th century for photographic printmaking. This exotic printing process is quite versatile in nature and can be manipulated in many ways due to the artist’s need. Gum printing can be made to yield prints of great beauty and which also get a distinctive character of its own.
It was really great to have Arpan Mukherjee from ‘Studio Goppo’, briefly introduce the participants to the history, context and practice of alternative printmaking techniques from the 19th century.
Great to have Swapan Nayak, with us towards the end of the workshop to share his thoughts on his practice and involvement with an alternative approach.
