For the last three decades, Goutam Chatterjee has been searching for a path of self-discovery through fine art photography. Creating art through painting is relatively a new discovery. The sheer drive force of this new medium drives him to the edge, perhaps it is becoming his only shelter to live in. He doesn't associate himself with a particular occupation but he sometimes uses this French-derived word, called 'artist'. Highly trained in advanced mountaineering, he has successfully reached numerous mountain summits, that gave him the sense of perpetual vastness which still echoes in his heart time after time. Many shut windows of his soul were opened wide when his bicycle rode across entire India for six months and Bangladesh for three. Amaar Pakhi (আমার পাখি) Why do I paint birds, the answer to this is even unknown to me. There are many people who know a great deal about birds. Studying Birds( Ornithology), photographing birds, etc. Some even dedicated their lives to save endangered species of birds. I know such people who regularly feed a piece of bread or biscuit or a fistful of wheat to their favourite crow, sparrow or pigeon. Personally, I do none of these. But still, in my circadian rhythm of waking up and falling asleep, the intimate chirping music of birds doesn’t desert me, so
